Welcome to Our New Sensory Space
Our School Council has planned and developed a new sensory area as a calm place to be during play times.
Playtime can sometimes feel a little overwhelming, so our School Council did some thinking and came up with a plan. The result is a beautiful new space where children can have a calmer time while surrounded by things to gently stimulate the senses.
This space features items that catch the light, wind chimes that jangle gently in the breeze and a variety of plants that are both colourful and scented. Freshly painted benches with brightly coloured, weatherproof cushions provide the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a favourite book. There are also fiddle toys available to keep little hands engaged.
Members of the School Council, enthusiastically supported and encouraged by Ginny and Kirsten, have worked very hard to create this space. They enjoyed painting the benches and planting the flowers and herbs. They are incredibly grateful for the funding that made it possible. Our sincere thanks goes to the Chapman Charitable Trust and Runnymede Grows for their generous support.
