Makaton is a communication programme that combines signs, symbols and speech to empower anyone living with learning or communication difficulties to understand and be understood.
Whether you’re a parent, carer, teacher or professional, Makaton can help you build confidence in supporting communication and creating more meaningful interactions. Our Makaton training courses provide practical skills that can be used straight away at home, in school and in the workplace.
Level 1 is the perfect starting point, introducing some of the signs and symbols from the Core Vocabulary of the Makaton Language Programme and giving you the knowledge and confidence to begin using Makaton in everyday situations. Level 2 builds on these foundations, expanding your vocabulary and helping you communicate across a wider range of topics and concepts.
All training delivered by Licensed Makaton Tutors at Meath School in a friendly, supportive environment. Participants receive a Makaton manual and certificate of attendance.
