Talk Learn Grow

These are the Talk Learn Grow targets for our class:

TALK:

T1 – Listen to contributions of others in group activities

T2 – Answer questions relating to cause and effect, e.g. ‘why?’ (Blanks Level 4)

T3 – Show awareness of the listener by staying on topic in conversations

LEARN:

L1 – Begin to reflect on, when questioned, what we have achieved

L2 – Play and work cooperatively; taking turns and sharing activities in less demanding situations

GROW:

G1– Realise that feelings help them decide what to do. Use simple strategies to make themselves and others feel better

G2 –Begin to understand the size of a problem and show simple problem solving skills

Class rewards:

In Jellyfish class we earn ‘sweets’ (pictures) to go in our ‘Working Together Jar’ so that everyone in the class work towards a class treat.

The Zones of Regulation

We use the Zones of Regulation to help us to become more aware of how we are feeling. We learn strategies to help us stay in the green zone or move back to the green zone so that we are ‘ready to learn’.

Our Book this term:

In Storytelling we are reading ‘Code Name Bananas’ by David Walliams. It is set in 1940 during World War II, when the Blitz bombings are going on night after night in London. The main character, Eric, who has been orphaned by the war, goes to London Zoo to see the animals and help his Uncle Sid look after them. His favourite animal is Gertrude the Gorilla. After something terrible happens, Eric has to go on an adventure to help rescue Gertrude and save the day

A visit from Freddie the school dog

Freddie came to see the Jellyfish class children. We were very gentle with him. He was very happy to see us all.
