Children's Mental Health Week 2021
Last week was ‘Children’s Mental Health Week’, the focus this year was ‘Dress to Express’. At Meath School the wellbeing of our pupils and staff are paramount. The children were invited to take part in activities throughout the week including our home learners. These activities included Mindful Movement, Cosmic Yoga, Friends Groups and a variety of craft activities. On Thursday the children and staff were invited to wear bright colours or outfits that made them feel happy. Every child made a learning hero personalised with a photo of their own face. Home learners were invited to send in their creations to be added to the display. Earlier in the week each class contributed to making a ‘Zones of Regulation Rainbow’. Each section was created by lots of painted handprints to represent each zone. In the afternoon each class took turns to put their learning heroes into the zone that expressed how they were feeling. The day culminated with a socially distanced fashion show. Each child walked or danced down the catwalk to the strains of Pharrell Williams ‘Happy’. It was a joy to see the children having fun whilst expressing themselves individually!
