Our mission

A nurturing community with communication at its heart

Meath School helps children aged 4 - 11 with complex speech, language and communication needs build the foundations they need to thrive. We have been rated Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ since 2007.

At Meath, we aim for a culture where speech and language challenges do not prevent young people from achieving their learning and communication potential, building an independent life and contributing to society.

Our exciting and stimulating learning environment supports children to Talk, Learn and Grow, with a curriculum co-designed by teachers and Speech and Language Therapists. We strive to work together with parents and families to ensure that children’s educational, social, emotional, spiritual and physical needs are met and developed as fully as possible. We also offer home from home tailored residential support which provides a safe and nurturing environment for pupils to develop independence, social and self-care skills.

Speech and Language UK Services LTD's mission is to give children and young people the skills they need so they aren't left behind, waiting to be understood.

Meath School achieve this by supporting children with complex speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) to Talk, Learn & Grow:

  • Enabling each child to talk, understand and connect with the world through a combination of communication methods
  • Integrating specialist teaching, therapy and care to help children learn
  • Creating a nurturing environment where children grow up safe and happy

“Meath School has been amazing – we’ve got our little boy back! He’s made lots of friends, and he’s understanding so much more. The school teaches life skills so they can be more independent. The strategies they’ve given him means he doesn’t need any additional support which is really empowering.”
