Training opportunities
Specialist Training and Development
We offer a range of training and professional development opportunities to schools and nurseries. These can be delivered on site at the Speech and Language UK Centre with Meath School or at your own location. If the training course you are looking for is not currently offered, we can often tailor the training to suit your needs so please get in contact.
As licensees of Speech and Language UK’s training programmes, Meath offer external training on speech and language development to early years practitioners, therapists and teachers.
Our current offer
Early Talk Boost: We train practitioners working in early years settings to deliver Early Talk Boost, a targeted intervention aimed at 3-4 year old children with delayed language development. The programme helps to boost young children’s language skills to help narrow the gap between them and their peers.
Talk Boost KS1: We train Key Stage 1 teachers, teaching assistants and learning support assistants to deliver Talk Boost KS1, a structured and robustly evidenced programme that can boost a child’s communication by an average of 18 months after ten weeks of intervention.
Talk Boost KS2: We train Key Stage 2 teachers, teaching assistants and learning support assistants to deliver Talk Boost KS2, a targeted intervention for children in Years 3, 4 and 5 (7 – 10 year olds) who have delayed language development, aiming to boost their language skills to help them to catch up with their peers.
Learning Through Practice Days: Tailored CPD visits to see inside the classes at Meath School plus a menu of presentations delivered by Meath’s specialist staff.
Bespoke Training and Outreach Support: Training delivered to key staff or larger groups of staff, specifically focusing on a child’s needs or your workplace needs. This is also offered to college/university students looking to develop their skills in education.

EARLY TALK BOOST
Price:
– £500 for an Early TalkBoost Intervention Pack: This is an essential
purchase containing all intervention planning and resources required.
– Plus £75 for the first person attending when purchased with the
Intervention Pack.
– £95 per person for additional delegates and staff who already have the
Intervention Pack and wish to train more members of staff.
TALK BOOST KS1
